Get Uncomfortable

Serve the poor, stop injustice. Change the world in Jesus Name.

Get Uncomfortable

Why I chose it?

Because the plea of the poor is very close to God's heart.

"When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God."

Leviticus 23:22

"He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for
their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors
God."

Proverbs 14:31

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

2 Corinthians 9:7

God shows us that caring for the poor and the needy are the trademark of a Christ-follower. To turn a deaf ear to the poor is to ignore the very heart beat of God. We must give consistently, sacrificially, prayerfully and gladly.

Because when we serve God gets the glory.

Most of us need to Get Uncomfortable more often, mainly because when we do something that is not "us" naturally and we see good results, we have no other option but to give God all the glory. So as you begin to explore this great resource, ask the Lord to manifest Himself in such a powerful way in your life and in the lives of your college students, that God and God alone will, when it's all said and done, receive all the honor and the praise.

Because of all He has given to us.

The ultimate giver is God himself, he gave his Son.

"Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift."

2 Corinthians 9:15

You are going to love this curriculum. I was impressed with its quality and depth of content. Your Get Uncomfortable leader's packet includes:

Get Uncomfortable Book with all six lessons. Each lesson includes Bible study, statistics, discussion questions and specific examples of how college students have chosen to reach out to the poor in Jesus Name. You will notice in each chapter on the side a pair of headphones, this is to alert you of times when you can play one of the theme songs and/or play an audio interview that will serve as a prompt for further discussion.

Get Uncomfortable CD which includes:

What I love about this curriculum is that it doesn't allow the student to simply study it and walk away unchanged. Every lesson, song, interview and video has been written to compel the student to action. It is designed to turn a passive audience into a group of ardent activists for the cause of Christ.

My prayer is that you will enjoy this curriculum as you prepare to teach. I also pray that you will be challenged and that this will be the beginning of a life long journey to have a heart for the things God deeply cares about. We are called to give generously out of the generous gift we have be given.
