Your Jesus - iLoveStudents.com I recently read a book that challenged me and gave me a new perspective on my walk with Christ. Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald S. Whitney. I encourage you to read it once, twice, three times. It is a fabulous book.

Living the Christian life is impossible. Do you ever wonder how the great men and women of the faith did it? I believe that in great measure their godliness was due to their understanding and appreciation for the disciplines.

As you browse through this website and prepare for your ministry to college students, I want to invite you to look at your life and always start there. Jim Cymbala once said that the disciples were not only called to minister but were also called to be with Him. They went out, did the work of the ministry and after that, they always came back and they were with Him. It is the same with us. In order to do ministry effectively we need to spend time with Him.

I encourage you to bask in His love, seek His presence, long for His holiness and surrender to His lordship. Our ministry depends in great measure, not in our ability to be Christ-like, but in our willingness to abide in Him. Let us serve out of a filled heart.

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

John 15:4-5
